Marigold (50g)

Hundapoteket's Marigold consists of dried, organic marigold flowers of the species Calendula officinalis, intended for use as a decoction. Marigold has a long tradition in both Western herbalism and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), where it is described as having a warming energetic effect in the body.

An individual who, according to these traditions, has a cool or cold energy may show symptoms that worsen during colder seasons, such as seeking warmth, feeling cold in the skin and ears, or having dry and flaky skin. Marigold is then used as a natural supplement in the diet.

The herb is prepared by making a decoction, which means it is steeped in hot water for a longer period. The liquid is then mixed with the animal's food and can be given daily, divided over several meals if needed. Marigold contains no additives and is used as a natural component of a varied and balanced diet.

Preparation and daily dosage
Prepare as a decoction (herbal tea).

Basic recipe:
4 tablespoons dried marigold
1 liter of almost boiling water

Steep for 20-60 minutes or longer (can steep overnight for a stronger decoction). Strain and store in glass or ceramic containers. Store in the refrigerator and use within two days.

Daily dosage:
XS dog & cat (<5 kg): 30 ml (approx. 2 tbsp)
Small dog (~10 kg): 60 ml (approx. 4 tbsp)
Medium dog (~20 kg): 120 ml (approx. 1.25 dl)
Large dog (30–40 kg): 180–240 ml (approx. 1.75–2.5 dl)
XL dog (45 kg+): 360–480 ml (approx. 3.5–5 dl)

Mix the liquid with food. Can be divided over several meals.
